Cucumber Merengue F1 Меренга
Cucumbers are extremely thermophilic plants. Their seeds germinate at a temperature not lower than 13-15 ° C, and the optimal temperature for plant growth and development is 25-27 ° C, but depending on other conditions it fluctuates within 18 -30 ° C. Prolonged coolness in May and early June - with temperatures close to and below 10 ° C causes serious disturbances in plant development. At temperatures below 0.5 ° C, cucumber plants die. If the temperature is low and the humidity is high, the plants easily rot. High temperatures - above 35 ° C also inhibit plant development. Cucumbers are grown both by seedling method and by direct sowing in the soil. Cucumber seeds do not require pre-treatment, although if you soak them in warm water for 12 hours, they will germinate faster. Cucumbers do not like transplanting. Seeds are sown in cups for an early harvest, or directly into the soil when the soil warms up to 12-15 ° C. Seeds are sown to a depth of 3-4 cm, the distance between plants is 12-15 cm. For an early harvest, seeds are sown in peat or plastic cups a month before planting - usually in late March - early April. 1-2 seeds are sown in each cup and covered with 2-3 cm of soil. After 3-4 days, when the seeds germinate, one plant is left in each cup.
Care. For germination, the temperature is maintained at 25 ° C. After mass germination, by skillful ventilation, the temperature is maintained at 16-17 ° C for 4-5 days, and the humidity is reduced. This protects the seedlings from overgrowing. Later, the temperature is raised to 22-25 ° C (on a sunny day to 28-30 ° C), and at night to 16-18 ° C. Requires moderate humidity, periodic ventilation. Water thoroughly with warm water.
