Original Indian miniature of a Mughal Princess on aged Govt. stamped paper. Presented in an authentic Art Deco period frame finished in a green/grey and silver colour palette.
Depicted in this delightful Indian miniature painting is a Mughal Princess posing in a diaphanous dress next to a tree sapling and a peacock.
The painting is relatively recent, but painted on aged Govt. stamped paper, and presented in green/grey and silver frame dating back to the Art Deco period, an authentic vintage period piece.
This format is unmistakably Bundi School of Painting in style. Indeed, many of Bundi's grand havelis, have similar examples gracing their ancient walls, including the celebrated boutique hotel, Bundi Vilas. LAST THREE IMAGES.
This miniature style of painting is very much in the Indian tradition, in which generation after generation of painters recreate images that have gone before. Familiar themes celebrated being historic, classical pastimes, portraits of deities, mythological figures, epic themes, icons and ornamental themes from nature.
Hanging hook to top, picture framer's backing tape added to the back panel. IMAGES 13 & 14. Please look carefully at the images, as they form part of the description.
