THE BEATLES ANTHOLOGY 2025 REMASTERED and RESTORED 3 DVD Set (FULL 2025 Documentary Series ALL NINE EPISODES) Featuring (Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr) DESCRIPTION:

Background of the original Anthology Series:

The original Beatles Anthology by Apple Corps' landmark, UK-produced documentary series, explored the life and times of the most influential and beloved band of all time, as told by The Beatles themselves. Initially released as an eight-episode documentary that aired 1995 both nationally and on public television. Eventually, there was an expanded version of the documentary resulting in each episode extended longer than its original broadcast version. This expanded version was initially released on VHS home video and was eventually released as a box set on DVD.

The Beatles Anthology 2025 Restored and Remastered Series Description:

This entire documentary series has been beautifully remastered. Both video and audio have been restored. You can even see the visual improvement as early as the first montage (set to “In My Life”) that opens Episode 1. In addition a great new feature is that ALL of the original interviews that were recorded for this series in the first half of the 90s were (at the time) only made available in the 4:3 format. For the FIRST TIME this “2025” remastered edition reformats these interviews back to the original 16:9 format as the remastering process accessed the original film stock to restore the original format. The restoration was overseen by the production team at Peter Jackson’s WingNut Films / Park Road Post, in collaboration with the band’s company.

This illuminating series includes A NEW NINTH EPISODE: This episode includes never-before-seen footage of the three surviving Beatles (Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr) coming together in 1994–1995, working on the Anthology project and reflecting on their shared history. This episode is more introspective: it offers personal reflections on what it meant to be the Beatles — their relationships, emotions after the breakup, and their efforts to preserve the legacy.

The 9 episode series spans the band's gritty, hungry early days to the phenomenon of Beatlemania and global superstardom. John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr take us along for the ride as they revisit the highs and lows and twists and turns of The Beatles' long and winding eight years as a band.

Final note on the new 2025 series: In spite the restoration and added episode, “the hardest times feel softened,” some difficult, perhaps more controversial or raw content was tempered and or changed/omitted. The episodes are shorter than the VHS/DVD versions of the original. For example, Episode 1 goes down from 1 hour 13 minutes to 1 hour 3 minutes. Episode 2 from 1h 11m to 54 min, etc. Its been concluded that editorial decisions were made to streamline the series for modern viewers which is unfortunate. The fact is that television and documentary pacing has changed significantly since 1995. What worked for a VHS/laserdisc-era audience might feel slow or padded for today’s streaming-era viewers. It’s been noted “most of the trim is non-Beatle material,” meaning scenes, commentary or detours that don’t directly advance the core narrative are more Ethan likely the scenes that have been removed or shortened for a tighter flow.

The Beatles Anthology 2025 Restored and Remastered Series Episode Description:

Official Trailer

Episode 1 (July 1940 – March 1963): This first episode chronicles the humble beginnings of the group: the childhoods and early lives of the future band members, their formative musical influences, and how the original members met and came together. It covers their earliest days — including the pre-Beatles era (e.g. their time as the The Quarrymen), their early gigs, and their formative musical development. It also traces their first steps toward recording and performing, culminating in the early recordings that set the groundwork for what would become the band. Duration: 1 Hour and 2 Minutes

Episode 2 (March 1963 – February 1964): During Episode 2, the series shows how the band transitions from local/UK-level popularity to full-blown national attention. It covers their first tours and television appearances in Britain, the rapid rise in popularity that triggered the onset of “Beatlemania,” and how their success at home began to hint at international potential. The episode captures that moment when the Beatles transitioned from a regional act to a phenomenon in the UK, setting the stage for the global explosion to follow. Duration: 53 Minutes

Episode 3 (February 1964 – July 1964): Episode 3 deals with the band’s breakthrough onto the international stage, especially their entry into the United States. It covers their arrival in America, chart success on US record lists, major television appearances — notably their performance on The Ed Sullivan Show — and their starring of the feature film A Hard Day's Night. This episode chronicles a pivotal moment when the Beatles’ fame crossed the Atlantic and transformed them into a global sensation. Duration: 59 Minutes

Episode 4 (August 1964 – August 1965): In Episode 4, the docuseries explores how the Beatles navigated, and expanded beyond, the initial rock ’n’ roll/pop sound that made them stars. As Beatlemania continued, the band matured artistically — Paul McCartney, in particular, began experimenting with songwriting that diverged from earlier rock-and-roll conventions. This period deepened their musical ambition and expanded their creative identity, as they began to evolve from teen idols into serious artists. Duration: 53 Minutes

Episode 5 (mid-1965 through 1966): Episode 5 captures the Beatles at a turning point: their massive success through live concerts (including landmark events like their appearance at Shea Stadium), as well as the strains and pressures of touring and global fame. It also covers the backdrop of a world that was changing fast around them — socially, culturally, politically — and how the band responded to the growing demands of fame. This episode shows the tension between the exhilaration of success and the toll it began to take on the group’s cohesion and identity. Duration: 54 Minutes

Episode 6 (circa 1967): This episode covers a more introspective, creative period, as the Beatles step away from relentless touring and public spectacle, choosing instead to focus on studio work. Episode 6 documents sessions that produced some of their most ambitious and enduring music, marking a departure from their early rock-driven phase into more experimental and sophisticated songwriting and recording. It shows the band maturing musically, exploring new studio techniques, and broadening their artistic range — reflecting a band no longer just at the mercy of fame, but in control of their sound and direction. Duration: 57 Minutes

Episode 7 (circa late 1967 onwards): In Episode 7, the documentary delves into the Beatles’ spiritual and creative explorations. As part of their journey, the band undergoes a shift in outlook and influences, including experiences such as their trip to India and deeper engagement with broader cultural and philosophical ideas. This inward-looking transformation brought new dimensions to their music and their inter-personal dynamics. The episode captures the tension and creative energy as the band evolved personally and artistically during a turbulent era for both the band and the world. Duration: 59 Minutes

Episode 8 (from July 1968 to the bands demise): The final of the original eight episodes tracks the period from mid- to late 1968 through the band’s eventual dissolution. It reflects on the complexities and pressures they faced — personal, creative, interpersonal — as they endeavored to push boundaries musically while dealing with internal tensions, changing relationships, and the shifting cultural landscape. Episode 8 documents the end of an era: how the Beatles attempted to evolve, struggled under expectations, and ultimately reached the point where they recognized that their journey together had to end. Duration: 52 Minutes

Episode 9 (NEW in 2025 1994 to 1995 behind-the-scenes): The brand-new Episode 9 departs from chronological history and instead offers a retrospective and deeply personal look at the surviving members — Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr — coming together in 1994–1995 to complete the original Anthology project. It features never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage of them reflecting on their shared journey, revisiting old recordings, and working on completing unfinished demos from their late bandmate for release (e.g., the mid-90s reunion songs). The episode focuses less on chronology and more on memory, legacy, friendship, loss, and what it means to have been part of something extraordinary. It closes the series with an emotional and human coda that reframes the Beatles not just as icons, but as people with history, regrets, and enduring bonds. Duration: 50 Minutes

Main Cast: The Beatles: John Lennon (archival), Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, George Martin (producer), Neil Aspinall (road-manager / longtime associate / archive-footage contributor), Derek Taylor (publicist / former press officer),
