Although untitled by the artist, this original piece is called "Lying Parent." The piece depicts a Pinocchio-styled parent speaking to a young child who looks completely tuned out. Drawn in 1980 by well-known former Orlando Sentinel Star artist Jon Beardsley, it features his typically amazing ink work while addressing a social issue as it existed in the 1970's and 80's and is still relevant today. This piece was published in the June 5, 1980 edition of the Orlando Sentinel Star.
