This listing is for an original antique baseball catcher’s mask dating to the early 20th century (circa 1910s, Dead Ball Era). This is not a modern reproduction or mid-century mask, but an authentic early wire-frame example from baseball’s formative years.

The mask features a heavy steel wire cage, original thick leather padding, early button-style pad fasteners, and wide canvas straps with metal buckle. These materials and construction methods are consistent with pre-1920 baseball equipment and are rarely found on later catcher or umpire masks.

This style was designed for catcher use, though similar masks were commonly worn by umpires during the period. The mask remains complete and unmodified, retaining its original padding and straps.
