Elmer Taylor is known for wheel-thrown functional stoneware pottery frequently altered in the leather-hard stage. Sides are altered to create asymmetrical forms.


Using bamboo brushes, Taylor added minimal line abstract patterning and motifs. The work was fired using a gas assisted wood kiln.
