Washington, DC - Today Albert C. Beeson, President Eisenhower's nominee for a vacancy on the NLRB, appeared before the Senate Labor Committee and listened to a volley of critical questions which the committee threw at him. Senator Lehman (D-New York) asked if Beeson believed the NLRB had fairly interpreted the Taft-Hartley Law in the past few years. Beeson replied that he believed the laws had been "stretched" sometimes "in an attempt to continue the bias of the Wagner Act." After hearing Beeson, the Committee deferred a vote on the nomination until Friday at the request of the Democratic members. Photo measures 8.25 x 10 inches. Photo Is dated 1954.
