Rosslyn Chapel Green Man Picture Tile Hand Painted Scotland Souvenir New Boxed

This is a new in the box souvenir of Rosslyn Chapel in Scotland that is a hand painted ceramic tile that feature the Green Man. This tile measures 4" x 4". The Rosslyn Chapel has over a hundred Green Man faces decorating the wall there. Traditionally the Green Man is a symbol of fertility and the figure's face is normally surrounded by or made from leaves to show its link with nature. There are many theories and myths surrounding the meaning of the Green Man. Found worldwide, it may represent the dual capacity of good and evil within nature. Another theory is that is embodies a woodland spirit which protects the building. This tile is in good order without chips or cracks and is in original packaging. There is a cork backing and a hanging devise...see photo of the back side. This is a pre-owned item estate find. The box has a little wear. My photos are of the actual item you are getting.
