Most appear to be composite, vegetable ivory, and/or horn, some could be rubber, some look like some type of wood, but I’m not certain. The box of cards was labeled “Composite - Veg Ivory - Rubber - Horn”, by the original owner.
The fasteners vary on each card, Some may be sew through, some may have metal loop shanks , some may have sew through shanks - 2 or 4 way.
I have not taken them off the cards, I don’t know what the backs of the buttons look like.

More about the estate:
These buttons are from the estate of a lady who was a lifelong member of the National Button Society.
She had thousands of cards, each measuring approximately 9 inches by 11 inches. Each card is filled with buttons. She used these cards to organize her collection according to various types, styles, materials, themes, etc.
Some of the cards are full, and some were works in progress, and are not full. Some cards are missing buttons - either trades to other collectors, or moves to different cards, or competition cards. When she created a competition card (also called a “tray”), she would select buttons from her collection cards.
