A 1927 reprint of the 1910 issuance. An Everyman's Library reprint edition of the author's 1742 satirical novel, which originally included the sub-title: "Written in imitation of Cervantes, author of Don Quixote." With an introduction by George Saintsbury. Entry 467 in Everyman's Library Fiction series, edited by Ernest Rhys.

In the style 1 Dent library binding in full green cloth-covered boards with gilt-stamped titling, decorations, and loop to spine with intertwined 'E' and 'L'; Dutton name to tail of spine in blind. All textblock edges stained in black. Volume lacks the dust jacket.

With prior owner's signature & info. in ink to front free endpaper, and areas of moderate scuffing to cloth, else a clean, tightly-bound copy.

RETURNS:
All items are sold on a satisfaction guaranteed basis. I guarantee the condition of every item as described. If you are dissatisfied with your purchase because it is not as described, I will refund the price of the item plus shipping costs both ways. If you've changed your mind about an item, or you just want to return it, I will ask that you pay for the shipping and I'll cheerfully refund the price of the book. In either case, items must be returned within 30 days of the date of receipt.

I rate books and dust jackets on a scale from AS NEW to POOR, as follows:
AS NEW - Used when the book or dust jacket is in the same immaculate condition as when it was published, with no defects. 
FINE - Approaches the condition of AS NEW, but lacking the crispness of a new book. These books or dust jackets should have no defects.
NEAR FINE - Approaching FINE but with slight flaws.
VERY GOOD - Describes a book or dust jacket that does show some small signs of wear or slight damage.
GOOD - Describes the average used worn book or jacket that has flaws and/or damages. (An old bookseller said it best, "In rare books, Good ain't good".) 
FAIR - Worn book or jacket that is stained, has loose pages, tears, or otherwise has some sort of significant damage or other issue.
POOR - Describes a book that is worn, damaged, stained or otherwise beat-up, making it useful as a reading copy but possibly not a collector copy. A POOR dust jacket is likely heavily torn, chipped or otherwise damaged.
