We started back into the hobby in 2019 and are new to ebay.  We traveled to Thailand to pick grade AA breeding stock for our small farm.

Caution:

Wild bettas can jump from their containers. Especially newly acquired fish. We have found it most common on Smaragdina, and Mahachai and to lesser degree all other species.

If doa send photo within 2 hours of delivery. Replacement of betta, minus shipping cost, is available.

Orders can be combined.

Orders will be shipped USPS priority 2 to 3 day. Next day air is available at a higher cost. Bettas can live in their container for up to 10 days. We fast the betta for 24 hours prior to shipping.

Hybrid “wild caught” Betta misconceptions:

We have and are breeding five species of “wild caught” Bettas. They include Alien, Mahachai, Splendens, Smaradina, Imbellis, and Siam Orientalis. They originate in five different areas of Thailand. Some of these species are also found in Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Within these five different species there are several color variations. They include green, blue, copper, gray, white, yellow, and black. There are also various degrees of shading within each color. The different colors within the same species are not hybrid. You achieve a color variation within a species by selective breeding of a specific pair of fish. If the pair has similar characteristics, color variation , they will have fry of similar characteristics of the parents along with the original green color. We have green, blue, copper, gray and yellow color variations of all 5 species.

You only get a hybrid when you cross species. For instance breeding an Imbellis with a Mahachai.

I have found that all five species will breed and create hybrids. We have also bred Imbellis with plakat. They are much larger than familiar with is the Alien.

The only commercially sold “wild caught” hybrid variety I’m aware of is the Alien. It comes in blue, green, turquoise/peacock, gray and copper. We are currently breeding all color variations. I have found they are more difficult for us to breed. I was told the Aliens are a cross between a Mahachai and a plakat. Again, I was told they specifically bred plakat females in rose or copper colors to a male Mahachai. They did this to achieve the shiny color and scale conformation found in the Aliens. It was created by line breeding specific bettas with the characteristics wanted to develop the Alien Hybrid
