Rare Samurai katana sword  storage box leather cover decorated with Samurai clan crest .Sword was a precious possession of the Samurai warrior and great attention was paid to how to preserve and store it. Wooden lacquered  boxes were used and leather covers were manufactured to provide extra protection to swords from external elements, humidity etc. Beutifully made , each cover was marked with gilded Clan crests and leather exterior was covered in lacquer , providing weather and water proofing to the storage box or the sword in scabbards. Handle cover is from different set but matching the scabbards cover functionally.
