He is 15cm tall and was made in the early to mid 1930s.   

I have included a photograph taken from the Steiff Sortiment 1892-1943 to show the page where this little squirrel is featured. 

However, what makes my squirrel that extra bit special is the dark brown nut he's eating. The dark brown nut was generally seen with the mohair version of this charming little Steiff toy.

For many years, this dear little Steiff squirrel 'lived' happily together with a large quantity of unusual Beatrix Potter collectables because the previous owner was a huge Beatrix Potter fan. That's why my squirrel is known as 'Nutkin'.
