◎ "The Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido: Mishima, Morning Mist"
The torii gate of Mishima Taisha Shrine can be seen in the morning mist. The road is drawn on a flat board like a shadow puppet. The background is fantastic. Only the travelers in the center are colorful and three-dimensional, and their movements are well expressed. The pilgrims disappear into the mist. The palanquin and the travelers on horseback moving forward look sleepy. It seems that night has not yet completely dawned.

◎ "The Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido: Okazaki, Yahagi Bridge"
The bridge in the picture is called Yahagi Bridge, and it is the longest bridge on the Tokaido, measuring 378 meters. The length is emphasized by the curves. The river is white sand and shallow. A procession of feudal lords is crossing the bridge, and Okazaki Castle is depicted on the other side. People at the time would have had special feelings when they saw the castle where Ieyasu was born. It was on this bridge that Toyotomi Hideyoshi met Hachisuka Koroku.
