DESCRIPTION
Antique British glass ink bottle embossed “BLACKWOOD LONDON” on the front. This classic English desk ink dates to the late Victorian to early Edwardian period and features a square to slightly hexagonal body with a hand-finished mouth.
The bottle is mold-blown with visible vertical seams that fade near the lip, and the opening was hand-tooled, leaving a naturally uneven sheared rim typical of late 19th-century production. Glass is a soft pale green/aqua tone commonly used for British ink bottles of the period.
Condition is good to very good for age. No cracks or structural damage. The lip shows original hand-finished irregularities from manufacture, not later chipping. Interior shows mineral haze and old ink residue consistent with age and long use. Embossing remains clear and legible.
A genuine antique English ink bottle ideal for collectors of writing instruments, British glass, or historic desk display.
CONDITION NOTE
Original hand-finished lip typical of the era. Interior haze and residue shown clearly for accuracy and consistent with age.
