Rare Benrus 14k Gold Model 405 Waffle Bezel Square Dress Watch This is a vintage Benrus Model 405 men’s dress watch featuring a solid 14K gold square case with the distinctive waffle-textured bezel used in this early 1950s Benrus design series. The watch showcases a cream dial with applied gold numerals at 12, 3, and 9, raised square hour markers, a sub-seconds register at 6 o’clock, and gold dauphine hands. The dial is signed Benrus and marked Shock-Absorber, consistent with the movement types found in Model 405 watches of this era. The 14K caseback is properly signed Benrus and retains excellent definition along the edges and bezel.The watch is manually wound and is running at the time of listing, though accuracy and long-term performance are not guaranteed due to age. The crystal shows minor surface wear. The dial has light, even aging expected of original mid-century Benrus pieces. The solid 14K case shows typical fine scratches from normal handling but no dents, maintaining the strong architectural profile of the textured bezel. The black textured leather strap is in good used condition, and the crown winds and sets smoothly.This Benrus Model 405 in a 14K solid gold case is a desirable and uncommon example of the brand’s geometric post-war styling and presents beautifully as both a collectible and a wearable vintage timepiece. Watch will fit up to a 7.5" wrist.
