Circa 1930 Turner Toys No. 66 “Junior” C-Cab Hydraulic Dump Truck – Classic Red & Tan – 15–16 inches

Scarce small-size Turner pressed-steel dump truck in the iconic factory red-and-tan color scheme. The desirable “Junior” or No. 66 model, measuring approximately 15–16 inches long. Features the correct open C-cab with red roof, nickel-plated radiator shell (typical flaking/wear), wood-grain painted insert, red fenders and wheel hubs, and original “TURNER TOYS” lettering molded into the rubber tires.

• 100% complete with fully functional factory dump mechanism: side lever raises the bed and the tailgate swings open automatically on gravity hooks (works perfectly and smoothly)

• Looks like an Older, repaint over original surfaces (orange primer visible in a few chipped spots); red and tan still display brightly

• Some scattered surface rust spots and oxidation typical of age

• One rear tire has a section of rubber missing (still rolls fine); the other three are excellent

• No structural damage, dents, or repairs — very solid and straight for its age

Highly playable and displayable example of Turner’s smallest hydraulic dump. The classic red & tan color combination and working tailgate make this junior model a favorite among collectors. Great shelf size and a perfect companion piece to the larger No. 56 and No. 36 Turners.

Rarity of the three Turner C-Cab dump truck sizes (red & tan scheme, original or repainted):

• No. 56 (26–27 inches) – Most common size. Still shows up regularly at auctions and shows.

• No. 66 “Junior” (15–18 inches) – Scarce – noticeably harder to find than the No. 56. Far fewer were produced and the small size meant heavier playwear/survival rate is lower. Original-paint examples are genuinely rare.

• No. 36 “Giant” (32–34 inches) – Rarest by a wide margin – very low production, huge price when new in 1930, so very few were ever sold. Fewer than 50 are believed to exist today in any condition.
