Mainframe Overview

The HP 8153A is a dual-slot optical test platform that accepts any combination of 815xx plug-in modules. By mixing power sensors, light sources, and return-loss modules, the 8153A can function as a single- or dual-channel power meter, an internal light source, a loss-test set, or a return-loss test set, making it ideal for fiber-optic component and link characterization.
