Up for sale is a complete vintage set of United States Emergency Coinage, specifically the "War Nickels" produced during World War II. Due to the critical need for nickel in the war effort, the US Mint changed the composition of the five-cent piece from 1942 to 1945 to a silver-copper-manganese alloy.

Complete Run: This set includes 11 coins, covering the dates 1942, 1943, 1944, and 1945.
Silver Content: These coins are composed of 35% Silver, 56% Copper, and 9% Manganese.
Large Mint Marks: These coins are famous for featuring the largest mint marks ever placed on a U.S. coin, located on the reverse above Monticello. This set includes the "P" mint mark coins, which was the only time a "P" was used to designate Philadelphia on a coin until the modern era.
Vintage Display: The coins are housed in a protective, hard plastic "Crown" holder with a white insert that details the history and specifications of the coins.
