A beautifully crafted sterling bracelet with old-world Spanish charm and gorgeous engraved links.
This mid-century charm bracelet features a substantial sterling silver engraved curb-link chain, weighing a solid 35 grams in total with coins and measuring 7½ inches long.
The spring-ring clasp is marked STERLING (softened with age), and the chain shows the quality and design typical of 1940s–1960s silverwork.
The coin charms feature the traditional Spanish colonial inscription “HISPAN·ET·IND·REX”—“King of Spain and the Indies”—a hallmark legend found on reales struck for the Spanish Empire.
The bracelet carries a full set of silver-tone Spanish colonial–style coin charms, reproducing the portraits, crowned shields, and inscriptions found on reales from the Spanish Empire. Good mid-century condition with natural patina on the sterling links. The engraved chain shows normal age-appropriate wear, and the silver-tone coin charms have expected surface wear and minor plating loss. The clasp functions securely. I entrusted my mother and father's (Lucille Ball & Desi Arnaz) memorabilia to Connectibles, and during the entire evaluation and auction process, never for a moment did I feel anything less than completely confident, protected and guided by experienced and compassionate professionals who love what they do. We got wonderful results and the best part... it was great fun!"
