and diplomat. 

Owned and operated Triangle Publications, which included "The Philadelphia
Inquirer," "TV Guide," the "Daily Racing Form," and "Seventeen" magazine.

 United States Ambassador to the United Kingdom (1969-1974).

Prominent philanthropist, giving over $2 billion to educational establishments
and art galleries. 

Sunnylands, his 220-acre Rancho Mirage estate, is now a museum and retreat center.
