What is Brake Caliper?

A brake caliper is a crucial component of a disc brake system. It houses the brake pads and pistons. Its function is to create friction with the rotors, slowing the vehicle's wheels. When you press the brake pedal, hydraulic pressure from the brake fluid pushes the pistons outward, forcing the brake pads against the brake rotor to slow down or stop the vehicle.
