Antique SEWING Hand Painted Porcelain 4-1/2" Madame Pompadour HALF DOLL, GERMANY

ANTIQUE HALF DOLL

Lovely larger antique hand painted porcelain half doll measuring about 4-1/2" tall. Featuring a beautifully molded figure, I believe this was designed after Madame Pompadour -- she wears a large wig accented in grey to mimic powder, fine features, rosy cheeks and bent arms held to her breast. Unmarked, I'm guessing origin is Germany dating 1920s or slightly earlier.

Condition is very nice with no damage other than a few chips around the base and mount holes - most of these are accented with grey paint, so I'm assuming the result of production or mold removal. Standing independently for display. this is just a lovely antique half doll - wonderful addition to any sewing, vanity or pin cushion collection!
