The coin features a design depicting Darth Vader in a fighting stance in front of the Imperial observation window as he holds his lightsaber. A silhouette of Vader appears to the left with his name shown vertically on top. The coin's weight and fineness also appears.

The obverse side of the coin bears Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with details of the coin's year date and monetary denomination surrounding.
