We very often see the words rare and very rare on eBay generally describing an on sale item which is not well shall we say not rare at all. Finally you have discovered something that genuinely is extremely rare only a literal handful of this model of pocket watch have ever surfaced so that’s likely to be 5 or less. This pocket watch has been in the same family for the last 100+ years since it was first acquired. You can see what condition the watch is in cosmetically and it has remained untouched for many decades I have absolutely no doubt in the adequately experienced hands this timepiece will be up and running rather quickly. The movement looks to be very, very clean due to the clear protective movement cover which I have not removed.

This watch was likely made by one of the following Swiss watch makers Mermod Freres, Langendorf or Borel all of who’m were known for their whimsical dials and animation features. When fully functional the animatronic dog’s eyes move with every tick of the watch.
