It is actually the same exact matchball as the euro 2016 Ball, the only difference is the graphic design.
The tournament was held in Russia, as custom the confederations cup is held the year prior within the host nation for the upcoming world cup. Germany won the tournament, qualifying after winning the 2014 world cup, beating Chile in the final, who qualified after winning the 2016 Copa America.
