In the 1970s–1990s, Prada (like most Italian fashion houses) did not have large in-house production facilities for all of its lines. They outsourced manufacturing to independent workshops — so-called fornitori (contracted producers).
These workshops usually placed their own label + “for [brand]”, and this is not counterfeit — it is a legitimate, official production co-label.
According to rare vintage tags, SICONS was:
• an Italian manufacturer of leather garments, including dresses, jackets, and skirts;
• a supplier for Armani, Prada, and several smaller brands (such as Byblos, Max Mara);
• known for using its own leather labels (brown or dark beige, embossed with gold or stamped with “SICONS for …”).
