Vintage 1940's gilt metal ladies slab powder compact, produced by Stratton, with engine turned decoration to the lid. The compact has small button to the back, which is depressed when the mirror is fully opened, and this in turn opens the inner flap. POWDER TYPE Loose powder. AGE Circa 1940's. SIZE The compact measures 8cm (3")wide, 5.5cm (2¼") high and 1.2cm (½") deep. CONDITION The compact is in a good condition, although there is some wear and discolouration to the gilt exterior, especially to the base. Antique Edwardian steel chatelaine hanging cypher stamp/seal case, which has engraved floral design.

CONDITION
 
The case is in a fair condition, although the original ink pad and original rubber cypher has deteriorated with age, and only small remnants remain. There is some wear and discolouration to the steek exterior.
