Sometime ago, Lenovo acquired Iomega.  Lenovo changed this product model name from the Iomega StorCenter ix2-dl to the 
Iomega StorCenter ix2-NG, and it became part of the LenovoEMC product line.

Purpose:  
When attached via an ethernet cable to your router or a network switch, this compact 2x3.5" HDD network-attached storage (NAS) server offers content sharing & data storage capabilities.  Using any direct wired Windows, Apple or Linux computer/laptop on your network, with the Iomega StorCenter ix2 you can access, read, write & store files to either one or both 3.5" HDD's you've installed, and share/limit access of other individuals on your network to those files.

Some users have been able to successfully use the Iomega StorCenter ix2 with Windows 10 & Windows 11, so I encourage you to research owner reviews from other websites before you consider a final purchase !

Easy 3 step setup:  
1.    Plug the Iomega StorCenter ix2 network cable into your router or a network switch.
2.    Assign the Iomega StorCenter ix2 an IP address within your router, then power on the Iomega StorCenter ix2.
3.    Launch the Web-based Management Interface by typing in the IP address of the device into an internet browser.

Device will work (read & write) with just one SATA HDD installed, BUT if installing 2 SATA HDD's ALL SATA HDD's you install must meet the following device requirements:
Recommended disk sizes are:  1TB - 3TB, but it may be possible to install up to 6TB disks.
Mixed disk configurations may result in unpredictable device behavior and will not be supported.
