This listing is for a lot of two original AMPICO piano rolls featuring elegant early classical and dance selections. Nights of Gladness (Roll 57183-G), played by Andrei Kmita, is a graceful waltz popular in the 1910s for light-classical dancing. Barcarolle (Roll 63551-G), Op. 50, No. 3 in G Minor by Rubinstein and performed by Alexander Sklarevski, offers a rich, expressive interpretation typical of Ampico’s high-end classical catalogue. Both rolls retain their original boxes and leaders and present beautifully for collectors or players seeking authentic period Ampico recordings.
Both rolls show expected age toning to labels and boxes. Nights of Gladness has interior edge wear to the paper near one spool end as shown, but the leader and metal ring are intact. Barcarolle has light label wear and normal handling signs but the roll itself is clean with intact leader and ring. Both rolls appear structurally sound; however, as with all vintage piano rolls, they have not been test-played on an Ampico instrument.
