⭐ DESCRIPTION
his listing is for a lot of two early AMPICO piano rolls, both connected by their Carmen-influenced themes and rich early classical arrangements. The first roll, Carmen Potpourri No. 1 (Roll No. 60963), features dramatic highlights from Bizet’s opera performed by Howard Brockway and reflects the expressive classical style of the 1920s AMPICO catalog. The second roll, Carmena (Roll No. 57114-F), is a lyrical 1915 composition by H. Lane Wilson performed by Al Sterling, offering a warm, operatic salon quality typical of AMPICO’s early period. Both rolls are original AMPICO issues, not modern reprints, and make a well-matched pair for collectors who enjoy early classical interpretations, thematic opera selections, and performances by noted AMPICO artists such as Brockway and Sterling.
Both AMPICO rolls are in good vintage condition with complete paper and intact leaders. The boxes show age-related wear and the labels have discoloration and edge wear consistent with rolls of this era, but the rolls themselves remain solid and advance normally. I do not have an AMPICO player to test them, so they are offered as found, in the same condition as my other vintage roll listings.
