This beautiful mid-century textile is an original Japanese katazome / bingata-style wall hanging, professionally framed and preserved. The piece features traditional folk motifs including a seated figure, bird, stylized cat, and blooming floral shapes, rendered in warm, earthy tones of persimmon, mustard, plum, moss green, and indigo blue.
The textile is executed on loosely woven linen/hemp fabric using traditional stencil-dyed methods — the dyes sit within the fibers instead of forming a printed surface. This results in soft edges, slight tonal variations, and a natural matte finish characteristic of Japanese hand techniques from the 1950s–1970s. Professionally mounted by Frames Unlimited, with a dark wood frame and glass front. Ready to hang.
