1925 Press Photo Bishop Manning at Ceremony for Cathedral of St. John the Divine
Yesterday afternoon, amid impressive ceremonies, the foundation stone for the Nave of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine was laid by Bishop William T. Manning of New York. Photo shows Bishop Manning dedicating the cornerstone, and holding in his hand the silver trowel with which he spread the mortar. The stone is golden granite. Several thousand persons were present to witness the ceremony. The Cathedral is at 110th St. and Amsterdam Ave. New York City. Photo measures 8 x 10 inches. Photo Is dated 1925.
