The Real Thing's "Stone Cold Love Affair / A Love That's Real" is a classic 1970s UK Pye Records single in a cardboard sleeve. Featuring various London session musicians and composed by Gerry Shury and Ron Roker, the record is in near mint minus - condition and plays at 45 RPM in stereo. With a northern soul genre on Side A and a first edition release, this vinyl is a must-have for collectors and fans of 1970s music. The record showcases the band's unique sound and delivers two heartfelt love songs that capture the essence of the era. The Real Thing ( formerly called The Sophisticated Brothers)  was named by their Manager Tony Hall after seeing an advert for a certain Cola drink!!
The Real Thing`s first release on PYE Records indicates INTERNATIONAL which was supposed to relate that the release was not a domestic British release. However the tracks were recorded at various London Studio`s i.e. - Scorpio Sound, Round House Studio`s , Nova Sound Studio`s and Morgan Studio`s....seems an error by PYE ??
" STONE COLD LOVE AFFAIR " was embraced on the Northern scene from the group from Liverpool with a full on orchestra delivery with swirling up=beat strings, brass the whole works that competes with anything from the US could deliver!!
