Condition: Not examined out of frame but appears in very good condition overall with possible light fading.

Lloyd Herfindahl (American, 1922-1995) was a prolific artist. His creations are available for public viewing at several locations in Albert Lea. Herfindahl’s murals, sketches and paintings are on exhibit at other sites including Aurora University in Aurora, Ill., several museums and galleries in France, Belgium and Great Britain, and even at Vesterheim in Decorah, Iowa. There are also his artworks in private collections. In addition to studying art at the Minneapolis School of Art, he privately studied under Austrian expressionist Oskar Kokoschka and Adolph Dehn.
Herfindahl served as the international cultural counselor of the International Guild in Monte Carlo and was co-president of the International Grand Prix of Painting, he was recognized in “Who’s Who in American Art” and “Who’s Who in the Art World,” and his artwork and his art work and history were featured in a book entitled “Fragments.”
He was the 1982 Minnesotan of the year. Herfindahl is widely recognized as one of Minnesota's most famous artists, and the only to ever hold a one-man show at the Minnesota State Capitol in St. Paul. He has also held major exhibitions at the World's Fair, Museum of Modern Art in Paris, Kotler Gallery, Montbard, and the Brussels Museum among others. He founded the Albert Lea (MN) Art Center.
