About 13” tall Wood Fertility Godess! This beautiful piece was hand carved in Ghana estimated purchased in the early 1900’s. This piece is well known in antiquilties as a Fertiltly Godess! Some tribal people will still call on her for better luck with Fertility! Great Collector’s Piece! Or many maybe she can help you! ;)
The Ashanti women of Ghana regard this doll as a fertility talisman. They take her along with them everywhere, for the doll is believed to foster conception, preferably a daughter. Dressed in beads and kente cloth, she is carved out of Sese wood of Africa. She still wears her hand beaded earrings.
