Rose hydrosol extraction method

1. Install and fix the condensing tube of the distillation bottle of the alcohol lamp on the iron frame according to the drawing.

2. Prepare 150g of rose petals and 300ml of water (if you need to add more petals and less water) into the distillation bottle.

3. Put the alcohol lamp into the alcohol and light it under the distillation bottle. Connect the condensate pipe to the latex pipe, the lower latex pipe to the water, and the upper latex pipe to the water. The alcohol lamp is heated, wait a few minutes, the water begins to boil, the petals change color, the steam goes up into the condensing tube, the steam is cooled by circulating cold water, and becomes a liquid from the tail tube of the condensing tube and drops into the beaker (hydrops).

4. Put the separator funnel on the iron ring, pour the hydrosol in the beaker into the separator funnel and let it stand.

5. When the separator funnel is in a state of oil and water separation, open the upper end plug of the separator funnel, and then open the bottom cock, so that the lower liquid (water) is discharged from the lower end of the separator funnel, and the cock can be closed when the oil-water interface is cut with the upper mouth of the cock.

6. Use a glass dropper to remove the essential oil and put it in the oil bottle.

Essential Oil Refining

1. Check if the funnel is leaking.

2. Pour the mixed liquid into the funnel, place the funnel on the iron ring and let it stand.

3. Open the piston of the separating funnel, then open the cork so that the lower liquid (water) is released from the lower end of the separating funnel, and close the cork when the oil-water interface is tangent to the top of the cork.

4. Use the glass dropper to remove the essential oil.

Notes

1. Before using the product, please fix the base of the iron stand with nuts, then adjust the position of the ten stand and iron clamps, and connect the distillation flask and the condenser tube.

2. The position of the sink should be higher than the plane of the condenser pipe, and then inject about 30ml water from the water inlet pipe with a syringe inside the condenser pipe.

3. Connect the latex tube conduit, and loosen the outlet latex tube stop clip, the water will automatically flow out (siphon phenomenon principle).

4. Please note that the position of the mercury ball in the thermometer should be at the same level as the bottom of the nozzle, and the liquid in the distillation bottle should not exceed 2/3 volume or be less than 1/3 volume.

5. The heating temperature shall not exceed the boiling point of the highest material of the mixture.

6. Please allow the slight color difference caused by the shooting light and 1-3cm error due to manual measurement. Please make sure you do not mind before you order.
