DESCRIPTION


Up for your consideration is a museum-quality 19th C. Russian oil painting, c. 1880 - 1900. It depicts a row boat, "docked" at the side of a pond, with flowers and an elegant fabric. One can infer that two lovers were in the boat, and took a walk in the forest. It is signed "I. Pokhitonov" in the lower right corner, but the piece is not likely from the famous artist. However, it is an original Russian painting of the finest quality.  


The painting measures 21.5" tall,  and 29" wide. The outer dimensions of the frame are 28" tall x 37" wide


Overall, the piece is in very good condition, with some apparent restorations. This includes 3 patches on the back, and craquelure, which is stable on the front of the painting. There is some inpainting, but it is relatively well done and hard to notice. There are some minor stretcher lines, somewhat more pronounced in the upper horizontal side. The frame is newer, made of gilded wood, and very heavy. It is in excellent condition.

The painting is too fragile for conventional shipping, and a private carrier will be required. They will drive the piece directly from our gallery to your home. Estimated cost is $225 - $275.

This charge includes all costs including quality packing, shipping fees, & full insurance at the purchase price. 


RETURN/REFUND POLICY:  We offer a full refund policy, but we must be contacted through eBay within 7 days after receiving the item. If a refund is requested, the buyer is to pay return shipping fees. The refund will be made once the item is back in our possession, and that it arrives in the same condition that it was sent.
