Listed is a Tom Stewart Iron with the " Serpent " cleek mark and no registration data below mark. Clubs with no registration data beneath the mark are older and considerably more valuable.  
The head is stamped with the name of the seller ( Slazenger Special New York ) in an oval shape. " Hand Forged In Scotland "
and " SPECIAL " with a DOT ( indicating it's inspection approval ).

This a VERY RARE collector's club because the maker, Tom Srewart, was the dean of Scottish iron club makers with a world 
wide reputation foe excellence. Also, Pete Georgiady, in his famous value guide, states the following about the famous cleek mark :   "(Only) A few early ladies and juvenile irons bear a serpent mark ".
Tom Stewart is undoubtedly one of the most well known and respected cleek makers in the guttie ball era of golf.
Stewart had the reputation for making the highest quality golf clubs and, as a result, many well known top professionals  
bought their clubs from him. They included Bobby Jones and Harry Vardon, among many others.    

The club is in very good condition in all respects relative to age and usage. Club is playable but not guaranteed for that purpose.
The face is 1 5/4 inches high X 3 1/2 inches long. Club length is 37.5 inches.  Swing weight is D 1.
