This (1960–1965) Commonwealth of Australia 10 Pounds note from 1960-1965 is a pre-decimal banknote (P#36) issued by the Reserve Bank of Australia. The note has an orange on brown multicolored underprint with black script. The front of the note features the portraits of Governor Arthur Phillip to the left and the Royal Australian Arms at the top center. The reverse of the note has a flowering tree to the left, symbols of science, industry and law in the center and an allegorical woman at right along with the denominations “10 £” on all four corners. The note has the watermark of Captain James Cook and "TEN POUNDS" behind each signature. This note is signed by Herbert Cole Coombs (Governor) and Sir Roland G. Wilson (Secretary of the Treasury). This note was replaced when Australia transitioned to decimal currency in 1966. The banknote has been certified by PMG with a grade of 55 EPQ About Uncirculated and is a great find for anyone looking to add a unique piece of world currency to their collection.
