This 1899 $1 Dollar Silver Certificate Black Eagle note has a bold image of the Eagle with wings spread, perched on a United States flag with the Capital Building in the background. Also, referred to as “Eagle of the Capitol”. At the bottom are busts of Abraham Lincoln and Ulysses S. Grant evoking memories of the Civil War. This is the only piece of U.S. currency ever issued which displays the portraits of 2 different presidents, both giants of 19th century American history. This “A” series note has a blue treasury seal and serial numbers A34621148. This note is commonly called "Black Eagles" and is one of the most popular designs in all of paper money. The back of the note has beautiful ornamental designs. The note is classified as a Banknote and has a Grade of 58 EPQ Choice About Uncirculated.
