・"One Hundred Views of Mount Fuji" is a picture book by Katsushika Hokusai (September 23, 1760? – May 10, 1849) published from 1834 (192 years ago). It consists of three volumes: "Part 1," "Part 2," and "Part 3.
" It was created when Hokusai was in his mid-70s. It's a work that not only depicts Mount Fuji but also offers insights into the culture and customs of the time. As an aside, Utagawa Hiroshige (the first), who painted "One Hundred Views of Mount Fuji" about 10 years after Hokusai's death, wrote in the preface that "(Hokusai, with his usual talent, created "One Hundred Views of Mount Fuji"), focused primarily on the interesting composition of the pictures, and often depicted Mount Fuji merely as an afterthought," thus commenting that Hokusai's Mount Fuji often played a supporting role.
In contrast, he stated that he had "viewed it firsthand (omitted) and drawn it like a photographic landscape," indicating that, unlike Hokusai, he had depicted Mount Fuji in a more realistic way.
