This is the large model "A type" microscope from Chiyoda Optical Industry Co., Ltd.
The A type is a research microscope, successor to the "MKA type," and the flagship model of Chiyoda microscopes.
Serial No. 33367 (manufactured around 1942–1943 / Showa 17–18).

The microscope is large and heavy.

The microscope has been cleaned and serviced.
All eyepieces, objectives, and case are genuine Chiyoda Microscope parts.
Under the specimen stage is an aplanatic Abbe condenser with NA 1.4 (see image 8, yellow arrow).
All mechanics (tube vertical movement, mechanical stage, condenser movement, iris diaphragm) work smoothly without damage to the rack and pinion gears (see image 5).
A blue filter is installed on the iris diaphragm (see image 9).
The mirror is in good condition on both concave and plane sides (see image 11).
The storage case has a lock.
*Aplanat refers to optical correction for spherical and coma aberrations.

Sample observation images (see images 13–17):
Eyepiece 10x and objectives 10x, 20x, 40x, 90x (oil immersion) were used.
Specimen: human duodenum, H&E stain
Magnification: 100x, 200x, 400x, 900x
Red blood cells are clearly visible (yellow arrow, image 16), confirming all lenses are in excellent condition.

Chiyoda objectives notes:
The 40x objective lens was rated as significantly superior to contemporary domestic lenses by the University of Tokyo pathology department at the time of development.
Its image quality remains very sharp today, making it one of the recommended lenses in the Chiyoda microscope series.

The microscope is in excellent condition with its original case.
90x oil immersion lens on Chiyoda microscopes often show degradation, so confirmation of lens clarity is important.
