A good Leeds creamware sauce boat of classic silver shape with shell type fluted walls and relief moulded acanthus leaf tips along the shaped rim. Grooved twisted strapwork handles with ornate floral and foliate applied handle terminals. Shaped and fluted pedestal foot and impressed mark to the underside (obscured with glaze). c.1780.

It measures 20.3cm (8") long, 7cm (2 3/4") wide and 10.2cm (4") high to the handle.

In excellent condition with no damage or restoration. One small glaze loss to the handle. The surface is finely crazed and there are a couple of fine glaze lines on the inside from firing. Crisply moulded detail to both the main body and applied decoration. A very nice example.
