A superbly decorated bone china porcelain shaped dessert plate from Minton with ornate enamel and gilt border. A delicate French style pink ground sits just inside the gilt dentil rim. Then a pair of fine gilt edged bands of dark green enamel, sandwich a border of raised enamel "jewels" that appear strikingly like split pearls. This string of "pearls" are embellished with gilt dots and gilt, and intersected with gilt and enamel star-like flowers matching the scalloping of the rim. Finished with a gilt droplet edge to the inside of the plate. The centre is beautifully painted with a landscape scene of a country girl with a bundle of rushes under her arm, walking towards her little cottage nestled at the edge of a wood.
Factory marks impressed to the reverse, c.1870, and the trace of the pattern number is painted in red enamel (likely A4314).
It measures 23.2 (9 1/8") wide and 2.5cm (1") high.
