🩷 About 1950s Hard Plastic Dolls
During the early 1950s, American dollmakers transitioned from heavy composition materials to durable hard plastic. These dolls often featured “sleep eyes,” molded lashes, and charming childlike faces dressed in cotton or rayon outfits. Their five-piece jointed construction allowed gentle posing, making them both play dolls and cherished collectibles today.
