 Released in 1972, the Nike Cortez was the first track shoe that Nike ever unveiled. It has since been introduced in an array of different colourways with the Nike Cortez Sail / Uni. Red being one of the more recent additions to the collection.

The leather upper on this particular Cortez was done up in a sail colour that worked well with the parachute beige leather overlays, the sail laces, and the gum sole.
