This matchbook is in VERY GOOD condition.   Some of the matches have been struck as seen in the pictures.

HISTORY

The Fisherman's Grotto in San Francisco was founded in 1935 by Sicilian immigrant Mike Geraldi. It served Italian-style seafood until it was sold in 2017 to a new owner who planned to modernize it while preserving its legacy. 
Founded: 1935 by Mike Geraldi, a Sicilian immigrant and fisherman.
Legacy: The Geraldi family owned and operated the restaurant for three generations, serving Italian-style seafood and becoming a landmark on Fisherman's Wharf.
Ownership change: In 2017, a new owner named Chris Henry purchased the restaurant, intending to update it and preserve its legacy.
Recent developments: The restaurant was closed and sued the city of San Francisco in May 2024, citing various issues.
