Antique Buddhist sacred amulets, archaeological salvage from Thailand, not to be confused with contemporary versions.  Sourced from an important French collection, and offered here in an antique French museum storage box.

These antique Buddhist amulets were sourced from, arguably, the most respected Buddha specialist in the UK. His museum quality Buddhas being highly sought after and changing hands for tens of thousands of pounds. He, in turn, sourced these as part of an important French collection. 

Although not of museum quality, these amulets are certainly of academic interest in their own right. In much the same way worshippers of Christian traditions light candles at altars, so devotees of the Buddha place these amulets at the feet of the Buddha as an act of worship during temples ceremonies.

At the end of each day, these handmade sacred amulets were gathered up from the Buddha's feet, placed in a ceramic pot and buried for posterity. Decades, sometimes centuries later, they came to light as part of an archaeological dig or where land was cleared for development. They were not, contrary to popular belief, collected up and resold by the monks.

The six amulets offered here are presented in an old antique French museum storage box. This makes them the perfect gift with spirituality at the heart of it.
