YT Decoy Mk2 EP8 “Core” series Alum Motor Guard. Will fit the YT Decoy models that utilize the plastic motor guard (see screenshot from YT website in the photos)

The guard is laser-cut from 11ga alum, and formed to fit over the YT Plastic guard, as an additional layer of protection from rock strikes. They are available with a plain, slightly brushed alum finish, no anodizing. There may be very slight scuffs from handling and machining.

The guard will fit seamlessly with the 540 battery, and will also work with the 720 battery by shaving some material off the bottom battery cowl with some 60 grit sandpaper a 2 x 4, and spray adhesive (see last two photos). I recommend using a small dab of blue threadlocker on the screws and tighten them to snug but not overly tight.  The guard will need to 'breathe' some as it takes the hits. 

It will fit all Core models of the YT Decoy with the EP8 & EP801 motor, and simply attaches directly over the existing plastic guard using the longer screws provided.

**While this guard is sturdy, it is not completely immune to deformation from hard rock strikes. With enough deformation the plastic guard underneath may also become damaged. In the event this occurs, simply remove and re-shape the aluminum guard with tools as needed, and smooth any gouges or burrs with a hand grinder/file - then repair or replace the plastic guard**
